The medical term for hair loss due to trauma is Telogen Effluvium, which also covers hair loss due to chemotherapy, childbirth or severe stress. All of these can cause a disruption to your hair growth and so cause you to lose hair.
You can seek treatment for Telogen Effluvium however it usually corrects itself after a period of around 3 months. This is when hair will reach its growth stage again and will usually kick start its self into growing again.
However if you don’t want to wait this long then there are ways in which you can treat hair loss after pregnancy. What is important to remember is that you are not alone so if this does happen to you should not be ashamed to seek help. You should also bear in mind that treatments affect people differently so just because one doesn’t work that isn’t a reason to give up. Instead you should move on and try something else because you are bound to find something that helps you and gives you back the hair you had before you gave birth.
