However, not all firms are making use of the most suitable products and services around, it has been suggested. Discussing this issue recently on Call Centre Helper, industry expert Graham Chick claimed that sometimes managers simply do not know what is out there.
He remarked: “Talking to an increasing number of contact centre managers as I do, when trying to elicit from them exactly what tools and technologies they really need to improve the efficiencies of their own operations, a common frustration amongst them is ‘I know what my problems are… but I don’t know how to solve them’.”
Mr Chick went on to suggest that there are technologies around that can add significant value to call centres by enabling them to monitor their agents more closely. Meanwhile, as long as people know where to look, they can benefit from great deals, he added.
The specialist also noted that it can pay off for firms to make the most of ‘try before you buy’ tests to see whether or not solutions meet all their needs. During these trial periods, companies can “really work with the vendor’s technical support team to evaluate the options and how it will truly benefit [them],” he added.
Expanding on this idea, the expert remarked: “The old adage of ‘don’t change your processes to work with the technology – choose the technology that best suits your business requirements’ remains true today.”
Thankfully, managers are not stuck for choice these days when they’re on the lookout for new call recording software, predictive dialing systems and so on, meaning they should be able to find the ideal solutions for them.
